Language Testing in Asia is a high-quality peer-reviewed online academic journal that focuses on showcasing academic achievements in the field of language assessment in Asia and the Asia Pacific region. The journal adopts a broad definition of Asia, including all countries east of the Suez Canal, south of the Caspian Sea and Black Sea, extending to eastern Japan and southern Indonesia, and in recent years has decided to further expand its research scope to Oceania.
This journal places special emphasis on language assessment, as there are a large number of second or foreign language learners in the Asia Pacific region with diverse language and cultural backgrounds, and there is a large-scale, high-risk assessment demand in the region that urgently needs research to improve the quality of assessment services. LTA aims to explore the applicability of language assessment methods in local environments, test new proposals and perspectives, and actively participate in discussions on transparent and effective frameworks for Asian language education by comparing the effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency of testing methods and analyzing various background elements such as cultural factors, attitudes, student perceptions, and motivations.
